Users may create and upload data files to BSCW and utilize them within the Granatum query engine. To do this take the following steps:
The file will now appear in the drop down list of datasets that you can query. Select the file as the dataset and enter a SPARQL query.
When you login the system scans your account looking for files that have an approved format. If one is found it is added to the list of files that can be queried. The following table lists document formats along with the accepted file extensions and mime types. A document in BSCW must have both the file extension and the mime type.
|Document Format||File Extension||Mime Types|
When an individual file from BSCW is queried the Granatum query engine is not used. This means that only the data from the file itself will be returned. Users may include other data by using federated SPARQL queries.
When an folder from BSCW is queried, all of the files with approved data formats from the folder are included in the query and the Granatum query engine is used to federate external data as well. You may select specific files to query by creating a folder and placing the files within that folder and then querying that folder.
